LANGUAGE TRIGGER
Language
Trigger
is
a
custom-built
device
designed
in
the
form
of
a
world
globe,
created
specifically
for
live
performance.
It
enables
the
artist
to
control,
trigger,
and
manipulate
an
immense
variety
of
world
languages in real time, turning geography into a performative instrument.
The
device
maps
voice
contributions
—
both
those
collected
in
the
days
leading
up
to
the
performance
and
those
arriving
live
from
around
the
world
—
directly
onto
their
respective
countries
on
the
globe.
By
interacting
with
it,
the
performer
can
activate
these
voices,
weaving
them
into a dynamic, evolving sonic composition.
The
result
is
a
layered
and
immersive
soundscape:
a
polyphony
of
languages
that
transcend
borders,
where
cultural
diversity
becomes
musical
material.
Each
gesture
on
the
globe
resonates
as
a
dialogue
between
continents,
communities,
and
individuals,
emphasizing
both
the
differences and the interconnectedness of human expression.
More
than
a
technical
interface,
Language
Trigger
is
an
artistic
and
symbolic
instrument.
It
transforms
the
physical
globe
into
a
living
archive
of
voices
—
a
performative
map
where
sound
and
geography
converge,
creating
a
shared
acoustic
territory
that
bridges
cultures
through
the
universal medium of sound
EMF Terminal
EMF
Terminal,
developed
by
Extrasync,
is
an
innovative
device
designed
to
make
electromagnetic
waves
audible:
signals
from
mobile
phones,
Wi-Fi, routers, electronic devices, and all forms of electrosmog.
We
live
immersed
in
an
invisible
ocean
of
electromagnetic
radiation.
Normally,
we
cannot
directly
perceive
it,
yet
it
shapes
the
environment
around us.
With
EMF
Terminal,
these
waves
become
a
sonic
experience:
a
new
way
to perceive and understand the electronic landscape that surrounds us.
Developed
with
research
and
creativity
by
Extrasync,
EMF
Terminal
transforms
technical
signals
into
a
unique
listening
experience.
It
is
not
only
a
tool
for
exploration
but
also
a
means
to
raise
awareness
of
the
hidden infrastructures that define our daily lives.
With
EMF
Terminal,
the
invisible
becomes
audible.
It
is
a
bridge
between
technology, perception, and awareness.
Not
just
a
technical
device,
but
an
invitation
to
listen
to
the
hidden
world
of
frequencies
—
opening
new
possibilities
for
sound
art,
scientific
exploration, and personal reflection.
EMF
Terminal
was
specially
developed
for
the
workshop
City
Detection
and is available for purchase through the Extrasync shop
EXTRA CAMSERVER
CAMSERVER is a software for managing streams from webcams.
CAMSERVER
was
developed
because
we
needed
to
use
video
streams
from
webcams
all
over
the
world
in
live
performances,
and
manage
audio and video independently.
CAMSERVER
is
a
kind
of
audio-video
director
that
allows
alternating
audio-video
sources
to
be
redirected
to
other
software
to
be
processed
in real time.
CAMSERVER
was
developed
in
C++
using
VLCLib
and
can
be
controlled
via OSC.
CAMSERVER had been used for:

LIGHT BOX
EXTRAWALL
EXTRAsensitive | PHOTOSENSITIVE DEVICE
for WHITE BALANCE
EXTRAsensitive
is
a
photosensitive
device
that
transforms
light
into
sound.
Using
optical
sensors,
it
captures
variations
in
light
intensity
and
translates
them
into
sonic
signals,
creating
a
direct
and
immediate
interaction between the visual environment and the acoustic landscape.
Light,
like
sound,
is
vibration.
With
LightSound
Terminal,
it
becomes
possible
to
listen
to
light
variations,
revealing
hidden
rhythms,
pulses,
and
textures
that
usually
escape
perception.
It
opens
a
new
perspective
where
illumination
is
not
only
seen,
but
also
heard,
transforming
environments into living, audible spaces.
Developed
specifically
for
Schnitt’s
performance
White
Balance,
the
device
functions
as
both
an
artistic
and
technological
instrument:
a
medium
that
expands
sensory
boundaries
and
invites
audiences
to
experience
synesthesia
—
the
fusion
of
sight
and
hearing
into
a
single,
immersive perception.
With EXTRAsensitive, light becomes sonic matter.
Not
just
a
technological
device,
but
a
poetic
bridge
between
two
sensory
worlds:
seeing
sound,
listening
to
light,
and
discovering
new
connections
between nature, technology, and human perception.
EXTRASCAN
EXTRASCAN
is
a
suite
of
softwares
we
developed
for
,
SCANAUDIENCE
and INNER VOICES
The
operating
principle
of
EXTRASCAN
is
based
on
the
projection
of
a
sequence of moving horizontal and vertical lines across the subject.
The
light
scan
lines
act
like
those
of
a
normal
document
scanner,
reading
the
characteristics
of
each
individual
viewer,
such
as
colour,
size,
shape.
Four
digital
cameras
designed
by
us
capture
the
movement
of
the lines and send the scan data to the computers on stage.
With
our
softwares
this
data
is
transformed
into
sounds
and
images,
using
algorithms
that
we
can
control
and
modify
during
the
performance.
It
was
initially
developed
in
C++
and
OpenGL
as
a
set
of
software
distributed
over
5
computers
communicating
via
an
Ethernet
network,
to
optimise the data processing load and enable fast real-time interactivity.
In
version
2.0,
the
softwares
run
as
separate
applications
on
a
single,
high-performance
computer
and
use
a
Shared
Memory
technique
instead of network UDP Sockets.
The suite consists of:
